Emilia-Romagna: Prophets in Our Own Land

We don’t hide that we are deeply connected to our territory, so we couldn’t have been more thrilled in 2021 when Emilia Romagna Tourism entrusted us with a two-year assignment to promote our region to a national and international audience.
When APT (Emilia Romagna Tourism) came to us in 2021, the timing wasn’t the best: with tourism affected by the global pandemic, attracting visitors was a challenge. But all the ingredients were at our disposal: the beauties of the Region – from art cities to natural landscapes, from medieval villages to the world-famous cuisine – but it was also the occasion to portray our land as a region of international innovation. A territory born around a millennial road, leading straight into the future.
From the beginning, we knew we had an incredible team to share this journey with. Two amazing testimonials, actor Stefano Accorsi and presenter Andrea Delogu, and around them a group of people capable of highlighting different excellences in their respective fields. We called them Artisans, Rebels and Dreamers, because – like our fellow citizens – they know how to think big, dream big and, most of all, act big.
Stefano Accorsi was the protagonist of a series of videos suspended between poetry and humor, written by screenwriter Fabio Bonifacci and directed by Paolo Freschi. In addition to several online contents, we produced two television commercials: one focusing on the art cities of Emilia and an extended version, titled ‘Blessed Are the Last,’  where we teased ourselves for always being first in everything.
Andrea Delogu hosted a video series directed by the young and talented filmmaker, Olga Torrico. Titled StrongER, this series portrayed several excellences of our territory, emerging even stronger from the crisis. We discussed cinema with Gian Franco Farinelli, food with Lara Gilmore, music and the Apennines with Vinicio Capossela, the tradition of contemporary theater in Romagna with Mariangela Gualtieri and Motus, just to name a few. What can we say? We never got bored and discovered a lot about ourselves in the process.
Has someone already said, ‘Have fun and the results will follow’? Thanks to an extensive editorial and media planning, carried out with our partner Emilia Romagna Tourism, the campaign performed very well online. It resonated strongly on the Region’s social media platforms as well as on the channels of the protagonists, accumulating over 9 million views overall on the web.
