Diesel Loves: Seeking Solutions, Together

Icons do not fear each other; they respect each other, and sometimes even join forces for something special. And since teamwork is the only work we know, we were happy to collaborate with filmmaker and friend Marco Proserpio for the creation of the first two chapters of the Diesel Loves Program, a project that reflects on the power of sharing materials, production processes, and creative resources to promote change.
The first chapter celebrates the partnership between two denim giants, Diesel and Lee, who came together to create a collection of one-of-a-kind jeans fully constructed from fabric sourced from both brands’ respective unsold stock.
We met Glenn Martens, Creative Director who envisioned this collaboration, and asked him to explain where this idea comes from. The answer has to do with the power of collective creativity to challenge industry standards and address the perennial problem of overproduction in fashion.
In the second episode, a denim legend meets a pioneering outdoor lifestyle brand: from the collaboration between Diesel and Timberland comes a limited edition capsule of shirts made from materials sourced from the unsold stock of both brands.
Both videos, under the artistic direction of Marco Proserpio, are a visual clash that combines different perspectives and sources, ranging from 16mm film to iPhone footage, showcasing how creativity expresses its full strength when open to dialogue between different influences and languages.
