Blending 90s Skate Aesthetics with Reebok

A sneaker with an avant-garde aesthetic and a designer known for his artisanal touch: a gamble that turned out to be a success. Artisan-designer Boris Bidjan Saberi created a capsule collection for Reebok LTD inspired by the ’90s skate culture he was part of. A tribute to the rebellious spirit of the skate scene, and a celebration of the 30th anniversary of the Instapump Fury, the shoe that redefined the standards of technical footwear with its unconventional design.
The campaign images, by photographer Paolo Pellegrin, are black-and-white snapshots that capture the raw energy and streetwear legacy defining the brand, as well as the sartorial attention that informs Saberi’s work, blending material research with an urban attitude.
Behind the scenes, director Paolo Freschi met Boris in his studio to discuss creativity and vision, creation and craftsmanship, and how he came to imagine this sneaker for Reebok, drawing inspiration from the skate scene, “a sense in life, really, a kind of religion.” The result is an intense and personal short doc, a visual journey into the universe of a designer who transforms urban memory into style.
